Here’s the latest 2021 information on the Ichinoseki–Hiraizumi Balloon Festival.
The Ichinoseki–Hiraizumi Balloon Festival is incorporated into the “3rd Round of the Hot Air Balloon Honda Grand Prix,” Japan’s top-level hot air balloon competition, drawing skilled pilots from Japan and abroad to take to the skies of Tohoku.
It’s a rare chance to see a magnificent hot air balloon event up close!!
And a precious opportunity to try an experience flight too!
*In 2021, there is no information about the Balloon Festival being held, but there is a boarding experience event!*

Colorful balloons stand out beautifully against the blue sky.
As the sun rises higher and the ground warms, wind tends to pick up. If the wind is strong, the event is cancelled, so early morning is recommended!
Once it gets dark, a fantastical “Balloon Illusion” is held.
You can watch a display of the balloons glowing in time with music.

Summer 2021! Try Boarding a Balloon in Ichinoseki–Hiraizumi
This year, 2021, a tethered hot air balloon boarding experience event will be held.
A rare chance to actually board a balloon!!
