It’s a rare spot where you can see two species — Genji fireflies and Heike fireflies.

Kubokawa Ihatov World — Genji and Heike Fireflies Together!

Kubokawa Ihatov World (within the grounds of Chishoin Temple) is a rare spot where you can see both Genji fireflies and Heike fireflies.
Genji fireflies glow brightly and fly in curving paths, so their light appears as a line. Heike fireflies, on the other hand, glow more faintly and fly in straighter paths, so their light appears to blink on and off.
Please observe this difference while taking in a landscape of light created by the forces of nature!

This Is the Place to See Fireflies in Iwate! Kubokawa Ihatov World

Kubokawa Ihatov World (within the grounds of Chishoin Temple) is engaged in nature restoration efforts, protecting the original scenery of a Japanese satoyama, and can truly be called a treasure trove of nature.
It’s an extremely precious place where endangered species native to Japan, both animals and plants, continue to survive.
