A distinguishing feature of Terrace Ronde is its use of locally sourced ingredients.
In our Japanese cuisine, we use Sasanishiki rice grown in Ichinoseki along with carefully selected produce.
That produce comes from Sato Farm in Hanaizumi-cho, Ichinoseki!
We visited Mr. Susumu Sato of Iwate Sato Farm, who grows delicious, safe rice and produce.
Iwate Sato Farm in Hanaizumi-cho, Ichinoseki! Produce Grown Freely and Healthily!

Hanaizumi-cho, located in the southern part of Ichinoseki, Iwate Prefecture, is a peaceful area with many farmers and fields stretching out.

In the spacious chicken coop, the chickens roam freely.
When Mr. Sato entered the coop, the chickens gathered around him!

This time, we were given a tour inside the eggplant greenhouse.
Mr. Sato says the condition of the crops tells him everything right away —
since what happened about two weeks earlier shows up in their condition, if they look unwell he thinks, “I’m sorry about what happened back then.”
In the greenhouse, we could feel just how much Mr. Sato cares about his crops.

These eggplants have just finished being planted. He mentioned that he planted them together with his children.
He does farm work together with them because he wants them to learn what it means to work through the experience.
Local Production for Local Consumption! Delivering the Deliciousness of Ichinoseki! Sato Farm and BELLINO HOTEL

↑ Everyone from Sato Farm together with Japanese Cuisine Head Chef Ueno
“I try to grow with the happy faces of the people who’ll eat it in mind,” says Mr. Sato.
Japanese Cuisine Head Chef Ueno says, “A dish gets its results the same day a guest eats it, but farmers spend many years on their work — that’s what makes it so wonderful.”

↑ He showed us letters from consumers. Mr. Sato looked very happy.
Sato Farm also gives lessons at local schools to convey the wonder of farming.
What he tells the students there is that “the safest produce is the kind where you can see the face of the person who grew it.”
Our hotel will continue to do its best to share the appeal of safe, delicious, local Ichinoseki produce!
