Restaurant Terrace Ronde, inside BELLINO HOTEL, is where you can enjoy lunch or dinner in Ichinoseki.
Thick, meaty shiitake mushrooms with a satisfying bite. They stand out beautifully in BELLINO Hotel’s Japanese-style meal sets.

We visited “Abe Farm,” which grows splendid, additive-free and pesticide-free cultivated shiitake mushrooms in Hanaizumi-cho, Ichinoseki!
To Hanaizumi-cho, Ichinoseki — Home of Abe Farm’s Cultivated Shiitake Mushrooms!
Hanaizumi-cho is located in the southern part of Ichinoseki, Iwate Prefecture.
We visited the local direct-sales market “Kodaimai Oriza” (Ancient Rice Oriza) located in Hanaizumi-cho.

This direct-sales facility operates under the motto of the “sixth industrialization” of agriculture — handling production (primary), processing (secondary), and sales (tertiary) all in one — serving as a place to promote healthy ingredients, foster creative exchange, and support local production for local consumption.
It was here that we first encountered the shiitake mushrooms from Abe Farm.

These are thick, truly splendid shiitake mushrooms!
They’re also used as year-end gifts and are said to be very well received.
At the direct-sales market Kodaimai Oriza, we spoke with Mr. Tadahiro Abe, the representative of Abe Farm.

Additive-free, pesticide-free cultivated shiitake mushrooms.
They’re grown slowly at low temperatures, and small insects are removed by hand, one by one.
You can really tell how much love goes into these shiitake mushrooms!
There was a time when radiation effects from the Great East Japan Earthquake put shiitake cultivation at risk.
By switching to greenhouse cultivation using logs sourced from other regions, they were able to ensure safety.
Now, let’s have Mr. Abe show us around the greenhouse.
To Abe Farm’s Greenhouse — Home of Ichinoseki’s Cultivated Shiitake Mushrooms!
Hiigata, in Hanaizumi-cho, Ichinoseki, is a peaceful area with fields stretching out.
Abe Farm’s greenhouse is located here.

We were given a special tour inside the greenhouse.

Shiitake mushrooms are ready for harvest about 5 months after the spawn is planted.
They’re raised with painstaking care under thorough management.

Thank you, Mr. Abe!
Why not try Abe Farm’s cultivated shiitake mushrooms, grown with so much love (^^)
