News of the scenery at Mt. Kurikoma (Mt. Sukawa) before its official opening and before the road reopens has once again reached us down at the foot of the mountain this year!

Mt. Kurikoma (Mt. Sukawa) Is Also Just Ahead of Spring — Sukawa Onsen After Snow Removal Work Is Complete
Past Shinyu Onsen in Genbi-cho, Ichinoseki City, the national highway remains closed for winter through late April.
This year, snow removal work was completed in mid-April, and repair work on Sukawa Kogen Onsen’s buildings for snow damage, as well as trail maintenance, are now underway.
Here’s what the area from around Sukawa Kogen Onsen up to the summit looked like before the national highway opened!
