Come See the Nikko Kisuge at Kubokawa Ihatov World! A Hidden Gem of Tohoku
The Nikko Kisuge at Kubokawa Ihatov World typically reach their best viewing period from the last week of May through the first week of June.
This year, 2021, they also look set to reach their peak around the usual time.

The best spots for viewing Nikko Kisuge are around Chishoin Temple and the “Magaribuchi Natural Forest,” a nature restoration project site owned by Chishoin.
According to Chishoin, when they first began their conservation work, hardly any Nikko Kisuge were blooming. However, it turned out that the plant originally grew wild in this area, with its seeds lying dormant in the soil.
Once they created the sunny, damp conditions that Nikko Kisuge need to grow, the flowers naturally began to bloom. The seeds are said to lie dormant in the soil for around 40-50 years, and during that time it’s necessary to prepare the right growing conditions.
Please take this opportunity to visit Ichinoseki.

The flowers have reached their best viewing period. It looks like you’ll be able to enjoy them at their peak until around June 10.
It seems there are more blossoms than last year.
